Fell in love

He fell in love and soon succumbed to death,
Busy pleasing her, couldn’t catch his breath,

He always did what was asked for and some more,
He even did those chores he never touched before,

As per the strict instructions he ate, drank and played,
Friends begged for, but one more min, he never stayed,

Even  after  giving it all,  from  all that he ever hath,
The poor little fellow, still couldn’t escape her wrath,

Though lovers utter their own fairytale shibboleth,
Ultimately desires end like the tragedy of Macbeth,

Proven, that love sucked both his life and wealth,
I still wonder, does love-struck ever do any math!

I agree that right now there is more possibility for someone to catch coronavirus than contracting any other disease through air-born droplets, but there’s never been a time that love is not in the air! 😉

As experts say that only eyes are enough, a well worn mask may not protect you from getting love struck after all. So I am just trying to depict a cautionary tale (which many of you are never going to heed anyway). But believe me, I have seen good soldiers who could have become fine decorated generals one day, disappear from the battlefield suddenly, only to be found domesticated in rotten civilian life! Just like that, even before they get a chance to ask WTF, a beautiful bullet pierces their heart and leaves them docile and disabled for the rest of their life. That’s called FUBAR dear friends 😉
